Check out John Wesley playing his Babicz Identity Dreadnought Cutaway guitar. Both John and Steve Wilson use the L.R. Baggs acoustic preamps with their Babicz acoustic guitars.
Lazarus is a really amazing tune by the Tree...one of their most popular and well respected....

  • One band is no better than the other...it's art, you may prefer one piece over another, but just because you like it, it's not good, bad or ugly, you just like it...why sit there and trash talk? We should all be together, you like may like Opeth and I may like Pocupine Tree, but we are all brothers and sisters, it's music and it's truly beautiful! Why do we have to destroy it's wonder by slamming each other and the music that moves us? Just my two cents...

  • If you like PT check out Opeth.

A slideshow I made of the same song.

  • /watch?v=P6ivZqDkIBc Same song. A slideshow. Beautiful journey.

  • @colinparen Well, this song is from Deadwing, which is a conceptual album. I think the main character's name is david and in this song his mother is contacting him from beyond the grave.

There are religious references in "halo" elsewhere in the album, so maybe you are not far off.

  • If You like Opeth check out Katatonia ;)

But of course, respect for PT, and their guitars :)

  • PT superb as always....for me about the most inspiring band around.....not forgetting Blackfield of course.

  • Love this song!!! Weird, I don't think there were any intentions of religious undertones, but am I the only one who here's a story of the Rapture?

I mean, "moonlight bleeding, follow me, down to the valley, come to us, lazarus, david, this cold world is not for you, rest your head upon me, I have strength to carry you"... ?

Am I seeing this right? Aren't we Christians watching the world pass by our windows? Don't we expect "a voice 'like a trumpet' inside my head, breaks the analog" ..?

  • And if you like PT & Opeth check out Katatonia.

  • Steven Wilson is a genius. Not only that but the whole band and the chemistry is amazing. When I saw them live in Sydney a few years back I couldn't believe how well they worked together. Check out my cover of this song if you have the time.

  • @ALTDOK That would be true if we were all talking of bands of an obvious high caliber of musicianship, like PT or Opeth. But your statement falls apart when we start to speak of the sort of mainstream north american garbage pop music, engineered by companies designed to solely make money. In fact, "the Sound of Muzak" is about that very subject.

  • @Vektruscen I did, but I don't like the growled vocals at all. Not my type of thing... But I love the clean vocals Opeth stuff. not bad :)
