This is me drumming to Kelly Clarkson's #1 Single - My Life Would Suck Without You ... on an acoustic kit - woohoo!

Thanks go out to my student, Stephanie, who plays a mean rendition of this song (w/ a lil bit of a Since U Been Gone fill in it). She not only suggested making this video, she also was the videographer and most importantly ... allowed me to play her acoustic kit. It felt GREAT to play an acoustic kit again!!! I miss mine. : (

This was a typical pop beat so to add a touch of rock to it, instead of just basic quarters on the bass, while playing two-handed 16th's on the hi-hat (choruses), you'll hear some triplet bass beating. Tons of fun rockin' those bass beats!

Anyway, until Kelly drops her new CD (which I can't wait to hear ... and play), this one song will have to keep us satisfied ... for now. Enjoy! :)

Btw: I'm trying to talk Stephanie into making drum cover videos also. I have a feeling that a certain (KC) album will be able to entice her to make her 1st video.

I remember seeing this a couple of weeks ago and thinking -- wow, cool, that makes two drummer girls I've seen in Kelly Clarkson related videos (the other one being a girl who got to play drums for Kelly briefly on GMA). They sure are rare, these drummer girls, I thought, but at least there are two of them now. Ha -- same girl. LOL! Gawd. Is it really that bad out there for women drummers?
