When examining the bloodiest chapter of early African history -- the genocide in Rwanda -- no words can be found to adequately report the gruesome occurrence. The magnitude of massacres executed in Rwanda is beyond human imagination. The people of Rwanda have the major task to live with the memory of that genocide. In connecting with the genocide you will be confronted with brutal and inhumane incidents that may alter your current way of thinking and forever change your view of humankind.

The ethical discussion about proper handling of the history and guilt of Rwanda is the central topic of this paper. After introducing the historical context of Rwanda and the course of genocide, a scientific case study is performed. From the study, national and international responsibilities can be gathered. After introducing the situation of survivors, the policy of dealing with issues of the past, and the plan for ethnic reconciliation, a legal discussion about the genocide is added. Lastly, the previous steps are evaluated and impacts on the current and future situation of Rwanda are discussed.

  • @Vengrence How does saving the people of Kuwait from Iraqi occupation in 1991 got worse? How does saving South Korea from North Korea got worse in 1950-1953? How does stopping the genocide of Muslims by nationalist Serbs in Bosnia and Kosovo in the 1990s got worse? How does stopping the Jews by the Nazi during WW2 got worse?

There is a lot of good coming coming out from interventions and some of them don't. You're very gullible about the situation in Rwanda and how the UNSC acted.

  • @xGothimox Look at what happened everywhere else we interfered. Things got worse, and we got blamed for it as evil oppressors or such. How would you feel if a foreign nation interfered in your country and made it's ideals of right and wrong the law?

  • @Vengrence

How could it have gotten any worse?

They were already murdering anyone they could. and they only had machetes and a couple light machine guns.

  • @xGothimox Preventable? If we interfered, it'd have turned out even worse.

  • @davantlag2000

You have no idea what really happend (apart from Hutus killing Tutsis) in Rwanda in 1994 do you? I suggest you educate yourself bit more about the Rwanda incident and how UN security council acted in 1994.
