That would be awesome! Come on down! You get to compete against a couple of guys who run ARCA too (not Frank Kimmel). But, Bret Hudson, Frank Kapfhammer and Darrell Basham usually field cars in these races. The competition is stiff.....

wow, that would be great to travel there if we still have the car then! looks like alot of great competition. We'll see what happens, and maybe we'll drag a few other cars down from the area

this race pays $5000 to win...$2500 for second and so on.....same race happens on July 4th weekend too.

wow, sounds pretty dangerous. What kind of money do you guys race for down there in that division, cause technically, we race the same division, but the winner of a normal nights feature is about $600 and a bigger race with 40 or so cars showing up will pay out about $1000 to win.

Yeah, unfortunately, last year, there was a guy who got sideways down the backstretch and the field coming off turn 2 couldn't stop. The dude got T-Boned in the driver's door and hurt pretty badly. He was from Ohio and ended up being in the hospital here in Louisville for 2 or 3 weeks. This year race saw two cars get together and roll over going into turn 1. That was interesting. There is a video of it on Youtube - but not by me.

What is the age limit to run this race and the firecracker 200?

I'm pretty sure you can run the race at 16 with parental signed approval. But, 18 years old is probably the standard approval age. I checked the Salem Rules and it really doesn't mention it. Frank Kimmel's son, Frank Jr, was the points champion in the street stock series for 2008 and I'm pretty sure he's only 17.....so, that tells you something.
