The song in this video was orignally done by Oscar in 1969. The original video is here on youtube. I loved it as a kid. Egad, I just dated myself.

This isn't the 1969 recording. "He" is actually singing.

This song was written by Jeff Moss, who also wrote the operetta at Luis and Maria's wedding. I know a show can't stay the same forever but I really miss those days when Sesame Street had such rich characters and respected the intelligence of the audience. They didn't conform to the idea of what a kid show is supposed to be.

Miss old school Sesame.... Grover, Herry, Mumford, Prarie Dawn, Betty Lou; I know many of their better halvdes have moved on to where ever- but I miss 'em. I dont watch it- with work- but loved humans. Olivia, Susan, Gordon, MAria & Luis, Linda...... Miss seeing Barkly the dog!

I remember it too. Turned 40 this year right along with Sesame. I can recite this song word for word -- and I haven't heard it in decades! I learned all about spelling and phonics and disabled people, etc. from SS. There was no better show back in the day! ;)
