This break won a prize on SportsCardForum.com! Get over there NOW for your chance to win!

Thanks to Wowwzer (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/wowzzer/) for the free pack! I am dumb and didn't know the glossy cards were at the back of the pack, so the Whitney was a glossy one - yay!

  • Awesome Stuff!!! I am interested in the Howard!

  • @Footnote75 I know what you mean. I opened a box of 07-08 UD Ice, and I hit a 2-colour ROOKIE JERSEY of PATRICK KANE! Even THAT didn't even get sold for $80, which is the average price for such a box. Ridicoulos! Sorry, probably spelt that wrong...

  • @TheBoxBreaker Well, exactly: the new Score product is $32 a box (at least it is until you add the shipping and customs charges to get it over here, at which point it's a joke and not worth it). But going with the base price, why would you not want to have a go at that and spend money on something which will almost certainly be worth less than you paid for it - unless you hit the mega-Tavares-patch-auto-shortprint?

  • @Footnote75 Yeah, and I think that the majority of people would be just as impressed with a nice looking insert as with a plain, white jersey. Why have a high-end collection if it looks ugly? Many of my friends are now collecting older stuff too, and before they were just collecting new stuff. And it's a big plus that those old products are very cheap, I mean come on, a box of the phenomenal-looking 07 Flair Showcase is just $28! You get 3 hits and a bunch of nice inserts. And it's not even old!

  • @TheBoxBreaker Yep, you'll get that: it's a no-win, because on one hand everybody wants to see mad breaks and loads of colours, and on the other you don't know if it's been faked!! I know that's not a common thing but cards are almost getting too good to be true anyway. You CAN have too much of a 'good' thing!

  • @Footnote75 Yeah, I know, but I haven't bought anything UD for a while now. Tired of all the negatives about their products. I saw a Quad Pactch (not jersey) on eBay yesterday, and it was ALL white. 4 patches. All white. What dissapointment, and it was THE CUP, too! Think it was numbered out of 25, too.

  • @TheBoxBreaker Thing is, UD could conceivably carry on just by selling their normal base set, The Cup and one other high-end product, like UD Black. People want their '1/1 double rookie auto quad patches', after all...

  • @Footnote75 Maybe UD will be out of business in 10 years? Dissapointing products, and now they also have to compete with Panini, which I think are doing a good job so far.

Well, I'd like to try almost every hockey box out there, but I'd have to be a LOT of money to do that! :-)

  • @TheBoxBreaker No idea. But I fear the worst about the condition they'll be in in ten years time - same with the autographed fabrics. I'd love a box of Revolution but...ugh, too many desirable cards, not enough money!

  • @Footnote75 Do you have any idea why they even use sticker auto's? Maybe because they're afraid the cards will get damaged in the mail maybe?

Yeah, OPC had some great inserts, but a couple of sets I'd like to see back: Zenith, anything Pinnacle cards, and Donruss with their awesome sets. Revolution too, but there are only 3 cards per pack, and they're expensive.

Have you seen the 97/98 Revolution base cards on eBay? Man! They're awesome. And the inserts Return-to-Sender and All-Stars? 5/5!
