Scenes of DE taking on fuel, sailors standing watch, inspections and liberty. Features shakedown cruise of USS Frament (DE-677).
The second film follows a group of destroyer escorts on a European cruise in the mid-1950s. Reservists are shown learning the duties that sailors perform aboard ship and they are followed on liberty at various ports. Scenes shot aboard USS Allen (DE-531), USS Tills (DE-748), USS McClelland (DE-750), USS Hall (DE-597), USS Snyder (DE-745) and USS Kyne (DE-744).

The third film is a short subject (approximately 6 min.) filmed aboard USS Charles E. Brannon (DE-446) with scenes above and below deck.
