We kind of did have a Martin Luther King in Harvey Milk. He went the same way at well. Or we could use a common hero, Martin Luther Kings mentor and right hand man, Bayard Rustin. He was a gay man and a civil rights leader.

We do walk the streets and have people raising their voice. It's just not working. Like afro americans tried and tried - until mr right (ML King) came along and turned it. Gay movement is a movement that has been around since the 30-40's but it's finally starting to get in the media eye. So any minute now! :D
Any minute now we'll find that Mr og Mrs right and our voices will be heard. :)

I have an idea - let's march in Long Beach, San Francisco and Hillcrest (where support already lives) and ignore places like Santa Ana (which the HRC, Courage Campaign and EC absolutely did in large part - and no - 40 protesters at the courthouse on decision day doesn't count)... and then... when we lose the Catholic Hispanic vote... have the nerve to act honestly shocked the marching didn't work.
I have an idea. Quit preaching to the choir and change the friggin' street you're marching down.
