Pokemon Colosseum: Obtaining HO-OH *Battle Mode Only*

You have to beat Mt. Battle out of Story Mode to get it. (Not available in Story Mode) To get your HO-OH, purify all 48 Shadow Pokemon and do the challenge that I said to do here and go after Mt. Battle Master Infin. If you beat him, you will get a legitimate Level 70 HO-OH as your prize.

Q1: How do I take this challenge?

A1: There is a video response here which is a tutorial video on how to set up for this and the challenge is not story-mode related because the last challenger, Somek doesn't show up here, except for an old man. You can select any pokemon you want to join into the fight but you cannot add Mew or Deoxys (non-legit) into the game unless they are legit event pokemon. Your team cannot carry the same items and the highest leveled pokemon you have, the AI's will have that as well.

Q2: What happens if I did the challenge but I did not purify my shadow pokemon?

A2: Wow, to be honest... that was a great deal of wasted time there because you cannot get your HO-OH without purifying them first. It may be possible to suspend at area 10 and go back to story mode in order for you to get caught up on purifying your shadow pokemon then come back to this challenge and complete Area 10.

Q3: Can you get HO-OH in story mode?

A4: No, this can only be done outside of story mode.

Q5: The last guy's Kyogre is a beast! What team do you recommend against him?

A5: Well for starters, I'd go with a Ludicolo holding leftovers, HP Rain ability and this moveset:

Leech Seed, Rain Dance, Magical Leaf and Surf

This moveset will triple Ludicolo's ability to heal faster. Thunder is not very effective, nor ice beam and flamethrower but beware of Aerial Ace. That is Ludicolo's 2x weakness right there.

Umbreon w/ scope lens and this moveset:
Faint Attack, Bite, Moonlight and Psychic.

Considering the fact that Umbreon has a staggering amount of defense, it's attack power is not very strong. I think a Scope Lens will suit Umbreon against his Gardevoir because it will raise the critical hit ratio and deal more damage to it. Bite only has a slight chance of flinching, moonlight can heal yourself if you are in a bind and Psychic can reduce Special Defense. If you EV train Umbreon's Defense even higher, it can survive more hits.
Fighting and bug moves are it's 2x weakness.

Feraligatr with Torrent ability, a Quick Claw item and this moveset:

Slash, Hyper Beam, Earthquake and Sword's Dance

The only enemy you will have extreme problems with is that Kyogre. It will use Calm Mind to raise Special Attack and Defense so it can take you out faster, like the example done to Espeon, Kyogre's Hydro Pump owned it. Kyogre has great Defense and it can survive mostly everything. Don't use a Groudon unless you can get it's speed higher than Kyogre's. Grass and Electric moves are Feraligatr's 2x weaknesses.

Gardevoir is weak to Dark, Ghost and Bug type moves which is a 2x weakness

Aggron is weak to water (2x weakness) and a more severe threat to it is ground since Steel/Rock is 4x weak to ground type moves.




Kyogre is weak to Grass and Electric moves and those are his 2x weaknesses.

Q6: I just purified all 48 shadow pokemon. Do I get my
HO-OH for completing the Mt. Battle 100 KO challenge?

A6: Yes, you will obtain your level 70 HO-OH as your prize.

Q7: Is it possible to get a second or third HO-OH if I play this again?

A7: I'm not exactly sure about that, I went through this once and never plan on doing it again. I don't think it's possible, but if you can prove me wrong, I'll believe it.

Q8: Is there a better way to purify my Shadow Pokemon faster?

A8: One of three ways, (1), you can leave one of them in the Day Care center in Agate Village, (2), buy "Vivid Scent" cologne in the Agate Village Pokemon mart for 1,200. I know you want more of them, right? So, here is some good advice, get a good level 70-90 team and make one of you Pokemon hold and Amulet Coin. Go take on all the Cipher Admins in the Deep Colossuem and beat them all. You will get 40,000 poke yen instead of 20,000 and can be able to obtain 200,000 if every one of them got owned. That can buy you at least 160 Vivid Scents and Vivid Scents can purify 1/3 of your shadow Pokemon's purple bar. (3) you can battle with it, but that takes too long.

Along time ago, my friend bought a used Pokemon Emerald and it had hacked pokemon, Lvl 100s, stuff like that. So I battle him and I thought Aggron was a badass pokemon, so I freaked when I battled his Lvl 100. I used a Lvl 52 Primate..... I won with a Cross Chop w/o a critical hit... I was like, woah.....

@amyrose9889nenasonic They stay the same as your highest one and they don't go any higher. Level 70's do have a small chance of beating a level 100 Pokemon, but it is all about your Pokemon's stats that can raise the chances. My Entei was lucky enough to survive that Kyogre, though.
