So these had the same motor as the 03-04 Silverado SS right? For some reason I didn't know you could get the 6.0 in the half ton back then, I've only seen them in the new bosy style Chevys/GMCs. Nice truck man, sounds awesome!

@impalass07 yeah, this has the same motor as the silverado ss. it's a lq9 6.0l. the silverado ss ran from 03-06 and always had the lq9. chevy and gmc started offering the lq9 in non ss 1500s in 04 under the name vortec high output (vho). vho's were made in 04 and 05, then the name was changed to vortec max in 06. in 06 you had the choice between ext cab or 4 doors and 2wd or 4wd. thanks man! check out the vid after the header install. it's a lot louder in real life.

Nice truck I would love to have that engine in my 01 well sorta. I heard these yr GM trucks were when GM started to build lower quality trucks though. Still Nice.

thanks. drop a lq9 in your truck man...you won't regret it. as far as gm making lower quality trucks, i haven't had any problems out of mine. i haven't heard of anybody complaining about the lq9 tearing up or anything like that.

i looked for a truck like this for 6 months here in maryland and no luck so i bought a trailblazer ss and it runs good for a suv.lol

you get 12 HP gain on dyno and if you wrap it you get 18 HP

the wrap is 50 dollars at jegs

that is a nice gmc but were can i get cold air intake and the motor also the exhaust sounds good i love it man i need that???

did you notice a performance diffrence when you put this cold air intake kit on versus the stock one and did the gas milege improve?

love the V-Max, got one myself, 06, best truck, wouldn't ask for anything more. how do you like the CAI? thinking of putting one in mine, but don't know which is the best. that spectre looks sharp as hell.
