A little video showing the signal improvement using a cell phone signal extender. I'm not really sure why I was calling it WiMax, but it's called WiEx.

  • I just won this YX510 booster from eBay and can't wait to try it out! We actually have the same issue I only get 1-2 bars (3 if lucky) and the calls drop all the time.

    A few questions:

How high is that base unit hung from the floor?

Where is your signal antenna mounted? Roof? By the window?

Do I have to have at least the required 15ft minimum between the base and signal antenna?

  • The base is about 7' from the floor, the receiving antenna is by a window on the 2nd floor, and try to have as much vertical separation between the two

  • Thanks! I think this will help, Is there a way to install an external antenna? We have a weak sprint signal.

  • yes, the antenna can be placed by a window, in the attic, or outside, you just need to run some coax back to the base

  • Umm... it's a ledge between my living room and kitchen, not a table, and i pulled back to show there was nothing attached to it. It's not like I got paid to fake that the device does what it claims to do...

  • I recently got one, but it doesn't work right most of the time. I have the antenna outside of a bedroom window and the extender is in the hall between 2 bedrooms. During some calls, I lose complete signal until I go right next to the base unit. Other times the power light flashes and I have no signal, unplugged it, plug it back in and then it works. Not sure were else to put the base unit to get signal in both bedrooms. I figured the walls in the hallway don't help much.

  • Thanks for the demonstration. I have a steel shed/shop. My phone DOES NOT WORK AT ALL in there. I really need this!

  • Thanks for the video! I have been looking at this device for purchase consideration, and your demonstration helped a lot.

  • Well I did go out and buy one and was totally surprized that it really really works. I am impressed. we went from 1 bar to 3 bars for CDMA and 1 bar to 5 bars for GSM. Both are 800Mhz.....for my aircard -105 db to an average -82db. That is with a Yagi antenna mounted in the attic. That's for your comments.
