@Masterkavi You seem to write it off as nothing but the history of that flag is very interesting. As for representing a desire for separation, i disagree. You claim it represents a desire for separation but from my experience its just a symbol of newfie pride. I'm just stating my opinion but u seem to know for sure "But all it really represents is a desire for separation from Canada." Can u back that up with facts? I fly the flag, but I love Canada and don't want NL to separate!

Honestly, the Newfoundland Republic flag is a kind of useless representation of our culture, as it has never been used to actually represent our country or after the second world war, our province. Is it a better flag than what we have now? yes. But all it really represents is a desire for separation from Canada. It's meant to rally people to separation, and we're already there, emotionally.
Fly the flag proud, just understand what it denotes.
