This video speaks about the dreaded subject that is tithing. I hope to answer the questions out there as to why I do not participate in this practice and why I believe the motives as to why people tithe to begin with are questionable and "rob God" of the glory for blessing his people ALONE and not through some act of human will of giving money to a church.

Tithing was for Old Testament Israelites to support the Levitical Priests, but today many verses in scripture are twisted by modern preachers in pulpits to mean that the NT believer should be tithing. I believe it is an error that has been perpetuated by either ignorance of the scripture in context, or purposely to fleece the people of God.

So guess what? When you tithe ten percent of their money, YOU ARE STILL ROBBING GOD! Well supposedly... The total giving required of the Israelites was not 10 percent, but well over 20 percent. All that money was used to operate the nation.

This is the scripture taken out of context to keep believers in bondage to tithing:

Malachi 3:7c-10
"But you ask, 'How are we to return?' "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings.

You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

But this is what God says about giving in the Church age now for NT believers under the new covenant:

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
"Now this I say, he who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver."

Are you giving cheerfully, not under compulsion or grudgingly? Many are giving to the church with a wrong motive, for their motive is to get something in return from God, and they think their giving will somehow bless them more than other Christian who do not tithe, and nothing is further from the truth!

The "storehouse" is NOT your local church institution, it was the temple and the Levite priests were the ones to benefit from the tithe because they owned nothing, ALSO the widow and fatherless were to benefit from other portions... think about it... is your church helping the fatherless and the widow with the tithes they take in, or only themselves?

Just something to think about.

God Bless You
