This reminds me of the Porky Pig Looney Tunes cartoon 'You ought be in Pictures' which came out in the early 1940s and had Porky trying to make it big in Hollywood by sneaking into a film studio and he spent the cartoon being chased by a security guard, there was also a Daffy Duck one that used the same premise and gags.

Watching those 16mm must have been a hassle. Changing the reels, and if you didn't have a projection room, you had to endure the noise that the machine made.
