  • Chinese martial art has always been practised for the purpose of self discipline and health promotion. So those fat losers who think they can fight should go beat up your pillows cause that's the only chance you have at not losing.

  • I just need to say whichever idiot that thinks wushu athletes cannot fight must be fat and pathetic to say the least. I dare those retard to challenge any wushu athlete for a real fight and how long they can last before begging on their fat knees. Plus the most powerful and effective martial art in world is pepper spray. So suck it.

  • On a completely separate note, now that I've gotten that piece off my chest...damn. Hu Xuming has a solid Jianshu form.

  • If you came to this video just to talk shit about wushu, SHUT THE HELL UP. No one wants to hear how whatever style you practice is more "practical"--Wushu athletes don't practice contemporary wushu for the purpose of combat anyway. It's a SPORT, much like Tae Kwon Do or soccer, and we acknowledge it as a competitive sport with foundations that have evolved from traditional martial arts. And it isn't so much the style that determines the winner in a fight as it is the skill of the individual.

  • zhenwei are in this place rite?

  • @Hastalamangousta most of them can't. fencing is already hard when you have to evade your opponent's cuts and perform the right parries and riposte at the right time. we're able to do that because of our daily training and drills we do to train our muscle memory. the jianshu styles dont offer a straightforward practicing routine like fencing does. i have so many friends that practice wushu jian that disappoint me with their sucky sword skills and believe me...they CANNOT parry.

  • @ShuyuKoukin It would work against an attacker with a knife or something... if you are facing a guy with a gun, it's totally another story and no matter how skilled you think you are, you're still most probably gonna get hurt if not die.

  • @ 0:51...awesome...

  • @Jaygenius its a fact. what these people are doing might look good to the spectators but most of these "traditional stylist" can't even parry for their life. They're pretty much clowns that only wants to entertain the audience. Calling yourself a "practitioner" is hilariously ridiculous.

  • @ShuyuKoukin Even though it's advocated as something aesthetic, all of the athletes train in traditional styles as well. To say that they barely touch the surface of the practical uses of the movements in false. The modern styles look the way they do is because nothing appeals to an uneducated general audience without flashiness. China still hosts a Traditional World Wushu championships every year so the styles are still present.
