I'll admit, there is a bit of that gruff tone to the voice. And, of course, the whole show puts a human face on an unknown monster, so there's a few parallels. Never really thought about it before, though.

True, but I believe that Hubbard ripped off Lovecraft when he invented Xenu, so I thought it was fitting tribute to have him included on the show. And if I can get just one Scientologist cultist to realize that their mythos is based on a penny dreadful ripoff, then it's all worth it.
