Scottish Acro Gymnastic Champions 2009

Greig Scarff has won the Scottish Acrobatic Gymnastic Championships in the Junior Mixed Pairs event with partner Sophie Terris. Not only did the pair win Gold, but they also scored a Distinction Score of 27.97 (out of 30), the highest of the whole competition over all categories. Greig trains for 18 hours per week with Glasgow Acro Gymnastics Club, based at Bellahouston Sports Centre and has recently won a place at the elite Glasgow School of Sport, where he will start in August after leaving Auchinlodment Primary in Johnstone.

Grieg and Sophie will now travel to Stoke to compete in the British Championships in May.

This is great. Just got in to sports acro. It's like gymnastics meets cheerleading stunts, meets figure skating, then a little bit of awesome. So unique. Love to see this in the Olympics. Way under-appreciated.

I think that the choreography is beautiful but the actual acro is so damn simple... I don't get it. because, when they do an element of acro it's easy, but the way that the girl comes off that element !!!!=> she's just like elastic! she could do very difficult things when I see this... (sorry for the bad english but I'm from Belgium :p) x
