I took the RAD exam, and as far as I can remember, when I was in grade 1, our level was way way below that.

oh my god, seeing those 5th position turnouts and leg extensions! I sometimes wish I had started dancing at an earlier age. these Russian ballet academies really are where a huge proportion of principal dancers are made

@PhoenixZebra your studio is a bit lenient. this is the "correct" way to stand in first or fifth. The russians especially are very strict / picky about this.

At no time in my life was I capable of handling any of these positions, but I do admire and appreciate the hard work it requires, even with a healthy and limber body.
