Based in London, Julia was working with VSO as an advocacy adviser in Ethiopia when she came across female genital mutilation (FGM) firsthand and embarked on her quest to campaign against it. She has set up "End FGM Now" which aims to raise awareness, increase funding and work with communities that practise FGM, to eradicate it.

Then you suggesting that males do not gain an unjust advantage over women by subscribing to a patriachy.

If men didn't strive for power over women, would there be a patriarchy? It does not matter where the male is in that system, he is complicit in maintaining the status quo and so an accessory to the crimes it perpetuates.
