hold a pencil in your hand and spin it counter clockwise then move your head around to the other side and look. The earth is in space there is no clockwise or counterclockwise its just relative to your own point of view.

Absolutley... Just like the term speed... It's just about your distance from something and the distance it is or will be away...

It is relative to your own 'direction' and 'speed' as to the objects perceived 'speed'...
