This is my first attempt to upload an Ogg Theora video to YouTube. I decided to record my Second Life avatar doing the headbob dance, with a little music to make it funny. Technical details of the video: Video recorded with gtk-recordMyDesktop, converted to AVI format using FFmpeg, added music and converted back to Theora with Avidemux.

  • Almost all recently-encoded YouTube videos are MPEG-4, and a lot of the HD ones are H.264

  • Thanks for the info on that.

  • Is this theora being re-encoded into something else?

  • I think it may be re-encoded to Flash by YouTube. I only uploaded it as a straight-up Theora file.
