Why, with all the possibilities that exist in the world, do we live here in the Twin Cities? In the spring and summer of 2010, we took our camera to the streets of Minneapolis and St. Paul to find people willing to talk, unscripted, on film. The result, this film, is our collective love poem to the Twin Cities.

Filmed on location the spring and summer of 2010 in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, the film features an original score by John Munson of the New Standards, the Twilight Hours, Semisonic and Trip Shakespeare, camerawork by Adam Olson and editing by Sam Heyn.

  • Like this if u love Minnesota

  • I love Minneapolis and probably won't leave but I'm afraid of who the target audience is for this video. I don't want the Twin Cities to become Portland. Hiptsers and yuppies can stay away. We'll be just fine without them. The video makes me really miss summer. Nothing is better than summer in Minneapolis and this video captures this perfectly.

  • @mysteryboxfilms Fair enough. I have not had good experiences here at all and have lived here most of my life. A few things are keeping me here which are somehow out of my control but I will be out of here sooner than later.

  • @kharazi666 That happens everywhere. It depends on the people you encounter. Your view of Minnesota can be completely different from anyone else and I respect that. I just want to stick up for my experience of it.

  • @mysteryboxfilms Do you mean MN nice or MN passive aggressive? There is a lot of subtle racism that is making me call most (not all) people in MN very judgmental. Trust me, I deal with it every day.

  • @kharazi666 I do agree that the weather sucks. However, I would disagree about the judgmental part. The midwest is filled with nice, easy going people. It's called "Minnesota nice" for a reason- not "Minnesota Secretly Judge You Until You Feel Bad About Yourself." No matter what neighborhood I'm in I can always make small talk. Whether I'm at the Somali Mall or at the Bulldog in Uptown- I always grab a story and people are pretty friendly. But yes, Winter is demon seed.

  • The most judgmental place on earth. Trust me, if you are any different from the average Minnesotan, get used to either becoming an alcoholic or a loner. Can't wait until I get out of here. Yeah, the weather sucks here too.

  • St. Paul is the most beautiful place to be at night. Driving over the Lafayette Bridge in the Springtime at night is incredible.

  • @b2tama Too late. 0:47
