Black & Mexican racism in California - 2 of 2

Racial rivalry between Black and Mexican communities seem to be increasing in southern California and other states in the U.S.

I spoke with Davey D, a radio show host from Oakland, CA, about this issue. Davey D participated at the 2009 Netroot Nations conference as a panelist on "Mixtapes to Myspace: How Hip Hop Builds Movements" along with Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Jr., Paradise Gray, Kimberly "Dr. Goddess" Ellis and Jasiri X.

I am black and I did my undergrad in Latin American history and culture so I have a lot of respect for Latin American culture. I also visited Mexico and Mexicans were very nice not racist at all in my opinion and the media exploits these differences. Also I lived in Brazil and Latin America has a lot of black presence and black culture that has mixed with the indigenous cultures and Spanish cultures. Therefore many Latin Americans are used to diversity.

Oh yeah I know about afro mexican history, yanga was the first slave to rebel against the spanish, in fact I believe he was the first person to rebel against the spanish in all of the new world, ahahah no mames, the spanish were so afraid of him starting a revolution, they had to leave him alone

It's tribe vs tribe, human nature. It's how we've survived this long, racism is as natural as breathing. Trying to combine races and nationalities is the perfect combination for bloodshed. Brown on black genocide is something no one wants to talk about, but happens everyday in Southern California.
