Sound software Reaper's ReaTune plugin provides a real-time transcription of an Indian music practice session in raag Bhairav, with Sa (the tonic) as D.
While nominally Teental, the taal (rhythmic cycle) is more accurately the lilting 16 beat Addhatal (AKA Sitarkhani Teental or Punjabi theka).

  • How to do this with your own recordings:

Load your recording into Reaper. Click the 'fx' button on the instrumental track (having a separate track from the tabla will give a cleaner transcription) and add ReaTune as an effect.

ReaTune is intended to be used for pitch correction - but of course you can just look at it!
