Interesting how you assume that I believe you. Fanatical Christians stopped doing this 5 centuries ago? What century do you think this is? The 26th? I'm not sure what time line you are living in, but in mine, the 21st century, it still happens. Maybe not quite as bad, but happening none the less.

Do fanatical Christians control governments that call for the destruction of entire civilizations? That force circumcision upon all female subjects? That harbor the training of terrorist cells that fly airplanes into buildings that slaughter thousands of people? That openly kill political disobedients at will for speaking against their regimes? That gas their own people for not converting to their religion?

Fanatical Christians, JUST like fanatical muslims want to FORCE there (YOUR) personal opinion on the WORLD. There are so many U.S. laws in this country based solely around religion, and NOT the constitution. THIS is what has TURNED me away from religion.

I read this in a different way than you I guess. I also read this:
"When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the SEPERATE and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation"

Not sure how that is supposed to refute/contradict anything Jefferson says about all men being endowed by a creator with rights.

Simple. You read ALL of it, and try to take it ALL in context the way HE MEANT it to be read. NOT the way YOU WANT it to be read.

So let's break it down.

The way I want it to be read: "All men are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights." Strangely enough, these are his exact words.

The way you want it to be read: "I don't think God has any place in the public square. When I said that stuff about man being endowed by his creator, I was totally joking around. What I mean to say is that our rights come from government, not from God, just like the Europeans believe."

But I completely understand. Fanatical Christians HAVE to throw God in EVERYTHING. Jefferson was one of the biggest supporters for the seperation of religion and state. Though you just HAVE to show he's a radical Christion basing the Declaraion on God. Please, keep going. It won't be long before you people turn the rest of the Christians against religion. I'm being serious, people like you are doing the best for this country. You're turning people against against it. It worked on me.
