  • very cooll !!!

  • No Land Rover, don't do it! The current design Defender is an iconic, tried and tested world beating classic.... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" This is just a marketing ploy for the Chelsea tractor brigade, Keep the Defender as it is, let the style conscious types carry on buying Freelanders and Discoveries instead.

  • @TheOne42 He's British, my Swedish friend LOL

  • una autentica cagada de coche. ¿que va a ser del todoterreno puro? una pena.

  • @NickSullivan123 You are right, which is why you see a lot more Hilux's etc. around than Defenders (price is a big issue). But most people still have a soft spot for the Defender. The squared off look of the current model is actually a really good look for a 4wd; it is a satisfying shape. The DC100 concept is just not up to carrying on the Defender line. If you saw the DC100 parked next to a Series 1 you would not see any real link, unlike with the Defender which is a true continuation.

  • @landyjd True, but yeah i just cant see people walking past there Toyotas and Nissan's and walking into a land rover dealership, and i know land rovers build quality is alot better than it used to be but would it be capable of doing 200,000km with out anything crapping out? They will go alot further off road especially when fitted with off road tyres and terrain response system. it does carry alot of history, im sure you will agree, but i dont want to see it to into a fashion icon either!!

  • @NickSullivan123 In terms of price, things to consider are the more labour intensive contruction of the Defender, the more upmarket interior (though the ride is not necessarily any better than other utes/4x4's) and the fact it is made of aluminium which I believe is a bit more costly. The Land Rover badge also adds to the price, as with all the prestigious European brands, and the Defender badge also has a lot of history.

  • @NickSullivan123 The thing about the Defender is it is really versatile with many different body styles. I don't think that the utes have quite as big a carrying capacity as Land Cruisers/Hilux's (though I could be wrong) because of the fact they have coils all around. However, if you need a utilitarian vehicle and you intend to spend a lot of time in serious off-road conditions then the Defender will go further off-road than any of the other utilitarian offerings.

  • @landyjd Totally agree there arent many off road vehicles here that dont have a ladder fram chassis, i still cant see it being able to rival say a Toyota land cruiser 70 with a Flat deck, Dog cage or carry tray on the back, and while i know that land cruisers arent exactly cheap it does have a V8 diesel and for maybe the same money youd get a new one of these with a 4cylinder diesel, i think also it will have to be priced alot better than the current defender eg.
