For every kid this school takes, that's one kid that isn't going to go to jail or become a teenage parent.

Schools like these save the state a lot of money.

I love this school and I think I'll send my daughter here next year. I miss schools like the one I whent to called the Modern school. A school built to educate African American and Latino children in Harlem on 152 Street

the American public should not have to depend on a lottery for a fulfilling education - it's bullshit because that must be right to all if we are to call ourselves a developed nation.

harlem success is a great school.... my son attends hsa1 and i must admit its excellence... last year my school attended a pre-k program in a public school and everyday i asked him how was school and he would say bad.. now when i ask him (who is now in his kindergarden program) he says great everyday! he loves the school and science is his fav..recently one morning i dropped him to school and aked him can i get a kiss before he leaves he said not right now i got to go and ran in I laughed ;-)

There are benefits to the students, but...

The people who can't afford it, or are not selected in a "lotto" will have to attend public school.

Public schools have their funding cut, then public schools teach for a test,

public schools will suck under these formula.

Demand goes up for better schools,

Charter schools can raise a lot of money, and don't forget the "lotto" plus vouchers.

Individual students will benefit, but collectively, the entire student population suffers because of it.

My son goes here. if i had to send him to a public school. i'd cry my ass off. I love HSA. Go EVa. Mr Shabazz, Ms Davis (no longer there but i loved her) Mr Smith what up!! Yoall are THE BEST.

you obviously have no idea whats really going on. my son goes to HSA. The teachers care. The parents have a certain pride because they know HSA is taking care of our kids. Thank Eva and Mr Shabazz and everyone at HSA.
