selling the force

Selling NATO countries on the idea of sending more troops to Afghanistan is a huge challenge. In Canada, a campaign to get the public on board has all the trappings of a military mission, complete with its own code name: Operation Connection.

It really does make sense. It's been years since the the Force has been properly funded or respected. General Hillier is brilliant to recognize this, I know in my unit hes practically a god.

What was the point to this piece? Did they expect Hillier to champion defence cuts? The service should not have to "sell rearmament", it should be a given that it is equipped to do its' job.

And if peace is so desirable that you would rather surrender than fight. then for gods sake just get out of the way and let the military do what needs to be done. It looks like Hiller is really the common day Hitler. His public relations ideas of gathering support of volunteers and youth is fascist. It’s a fascist approach and manipulation of the people in deploying troops to Afghanistan in the idea that war means good. War has never been good and will bankrupt Canada except for those rich elite that take advantage of the results of war. Hiller proudly wears his swastika as seen in the video with the support of conservatives.
