This powerful dance originated in the Northern, mountainous regions of Georgia, marked with diverse cultural traditions and many linguistic dialects. The women are praised for their beauty and grace while the men are cherished for their courage and dignity. The relatively cold and rough atmosphere of the mountains is shown through the vigor and the strictness of the movements. Men ONLY dance with the daggers. This dance is also performed in Chechnya.

  • ruthless dance..one of the most Original dances in the world, every time i watch this it makes me feel proud to have Georgian Blood in me, because it demonstrates something which is Georgian, which is Ancient, and is not bound by todays Politics which suppresses small nations unique identities of not Just Georgia, but many other small Ancient Countries..which I might add are not many left.
