颜紫元医师吴氏太极VS 其学生摔跤、擒拿等外家拳技 10.2008
Since Dr Yans PHS video on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L85-aSuYH9g&feature=related), two major arguments were raised: 1): the differences between demonstrations of PHS and none demonstration PHS, and 2): if push hands should be wrestling, joints locking, or creating a moment where the opponents lose balance, becoming rigid and fragile, then to strike to destroy, or just to throw / push the opponent away to warning.
A good PHS Demo needs both good skill and some cooperation, similar as in throwing Demos, like Shuai Jiao (Chinese Wrestling); in joints locking, like Aikido. A bad Demo often is fake as well, such as without leading the opponent into losing balance, just touching or even without touch, and the opponent flying away etc.
Real PHS is different from above two, as there is no cooperation, so one party sometimes need use some effort to control the opponents balance. Often as soon as both parties touch, one partys balance is already controlled, then the other one can strike or throw.
Wrestling and joint locking takes bigger movements, Tai Chi PHS is more sensitive, needing less time. So good Tai Chi masters should be able to defeat wrestling or joint locking attacks.
In the past, I used Wu tai chi push hands VS some experts like judo instructor Robert, Akido instructor Kevin, American Boxer / Wrestler and Body Builder David; China National Shuai Jiao champion Master Sang. It was pity that I didnt video down how I used Wu tai chi to defeat those experts wrestling & joints locking.
Luckily, I found a video which was filmed down in October 2008, when I was explaining application to one of my Senior External Kung Fu (Shaolin) students Geoff, we were in a high spirit at the time, so I also asked him to use whatever he learned to push / throw or joint lock me, and I wanted to see how I could defeat him by using Wu tai chi PHS (It is actually easier to use free sparing than using tai chi PHS)
Geoff never practiced tai chi, he learned Shao Lin from me more than 15 years. He also learned many years Shuai Jiao (Chinese Wrestling) and some judo technique. Geoff also won light weight San Shou (Free Sparring) NZ National champion in 2000, his last opponent was a win chun guy. Please see the video October 2008 (I feel that from Oct.2008 to 28-09-09 ,nearly a year time ,i made more improvement of my wu tai chi , and another one which i am going to post on was filmed in 2003 ,was not as good as this 2008 one. so you can see how deep the art is , you can always improve it throughout your whole life)

all the personal attack you made clearly stated you are a low class Chinese living overseas , you even not dare to tell your real name , just a ugly sick little man of Asia.

look at the low class language you used in your early comments , was it because i pointed how fake your master YU HUALONG was several yeats ago , you have been showing how ugly you as low class Chinese to the world? you are the sick and dirty ugly man of Asia!

How much more realism do you want? He`s not getting taken down in unrehearsed exchanges. Granted they`re not using alot of power, but he`s dissolving and disrupting everything that comes his way before it can build up steam. Just takes time and practice to build skill.

Nicely developed listening and small circles! Clearly demonstrate how to listen and unbalance opponents intention and structure. Well done Dr Yans! Thanks for sharing.
