I like the added dimension the brass gives to this, although I must say I am a sucker for the acoustically haunting 2009 version.

@yellow4231 i quite like set the fire to the third bar

I prefer the 2009 version, but as they are the same song, they're both good. ;)

@yellow4231 'Dark Roman wine' and 'on/off' are also similar. :)

This song has Radiohead written all over it.

@jsalkie thank you. this is the first snow patrol song ive heard that is actually similar olive grove. thanks very much

@yellow4231 Try you could be happy

Only a subtle change but netherless i love how Gary changes it to 'I am too frightened to come out from behind here' rather than 'scared' in the 2009 version to fit better syllabically. Perfecting perfection! Genius :)

What other songs would other people recommend by snow patrol which are similar to this? Much appreciated.

Maybe a older song called Fifteen Minutes Old from their first album? Or of the newer stuff possibly Run or Somewhere a Clock is Ticking (Those are the ones I like anyway.)

I used to love this song, it would make me so happy. I still love this song, but now that i've gotten older, I hate the fact that I can't feel that same emotion it gave me when i first heard it. im not hating on the song, i just miss my early teenage years, even if they were angst-ridden :)
Regardless, it is an amazing song.
