This is one of the most beautiful team goals you might be able to see; in any case, the most "fluid" team effort I remember to have ever seen. The scorer is Hidegkuti Nandor, the legend, one of the best of the Magical Magyars, or the Golden Team. The footage is from the legendary game in which Hungary was the first team from outside the British Islands to ever defeat England on Wembley, 6:3. This was the goal that brought the score to 6:2. It was 1953.

Buzanszky sends the ball to Czibor and Czibor plays back to him. Czibor(11) is now at the post of the right beck and Buzanszky(2) is at the right outer! We are at the midle of the english area.

The ball comes now hight to Budai(7) and then to Kocsis(8). Kocsis sends back (the ball) with his head to Puskas(10). We are now at the 16m area. Puskas lifts the ball, Hidegkuti shoots..Goal!

I think the "Aranycsapat" (gondenteam) didn't wanted to fight at this moment. They wanted to TEACH!

Watching English football in the early 1950's I could see how bad it had become. The pre war players were fading away and the new crop lacked both finesse and skills. Seeing Hungary in that game confirmed to me that I had seen the writing on the wall years before.
