Documentary about the life and work of Theodor Geisel, known to the world as Dr Seuss.

In this part:
- the contuining influence of Ted Geisel's childhood on his later work;
- the making of the Hollywood movie 'The 5,00 Fingers of Dr T', which was not a success;
- serious illness of Helen Seuss, who developed Guillain-Barre Syndrome;
- the increase in illiteracy after the Second War;
- a challenge to Dr Seuss to write a reader using only 225 words, which led to the writing of 'The Cat in the Hat'.

Interviews with friends, colleagues and family members of Dr Seuss, including Stan and Jan Berenstain.

With readings from 'If I Ran the Zoo' and 'The Cat in the Hat'.

    I hate all of these idiots that see something wild and creative, and since they themselves are NOT creative or talented, they express their limited understanding of creativity by saying "Oh, he must have been on DRUGS!"

    Why is it that everyone thinks that randomness or creativity comes from DRUGS all the time?

    Maybe it comes from a person with a great imagination!
