This is one of the last video recordings of Jackie Curtis, who died in 1985 of a drug overdose. This bio was written for a collection of Curtis' poems called "Wild Orchids" and is one of five Jackie performed on camera in summer, 1983.

I am reading your book about Jackie Curtis right now!  I am on page 156 where Styles Caldwell is talking about the accidental fire ("Cigars, cigarettes, rubber dollies, French letters, hair burgers!")during a performance of JC's 'Vain Vicitory" when he was playing the cigarette girl.

Thank you so much. This is the very last thing I videotaped of Jackie. It was the summer of 1983. Less than two years later he died, needlessly, tragically at the age of 38. He was an amazing artist and friend, and is missed by many.
