Documentary on Sydney's Indigenous community, 'The Block'. This documentary addresses the plans which have been drafted by both the community on the Block and the Government for the future of The Block and addresses what is going to be best for the indigenous community that live there. In 2005 it won a spot in the prestigious Victorian High School's 'Top Screens' awards, it then went on to win the top student documentary in NZ and Australia for 2006 in the ATOM awards. It is also available for viewing in the Australian Center of Moving Images in Melbourne.

  • We seen a drug raid by police within days of the announcement of major development about to start.The push to get rid of the Aboriginal community out of Redfern is beginning.I told you to watch your backs.

  • why don't they try and take Chinatown..that's prime land,not the block....

  • i agree something has to be done about the situation,i have many aboriginal friends i spent my whole school life with boys from a hostel,im jus being honest here,i dun think they would be able to look after there community 10 yrs lata itd jus be the same old torn up buildings,id love to think they could prove me different.

  • I'm around that area, and down the block a bit. Ray was my pastor at Cross Roads and is a dedicated and wonderful man. An awesome , realistic view of "The block" and issues surrounding it. The community Centre in the Block is a striking Building that really helps the community. Could this not be repeated in other new residencies?
