Japan, Tokyo is a wonderful place. People are friendly and take pride in themselves and work. This is evident all around you. However, as working practices change as a result of globalization and the harsh realities of the economic environment, the notion of the job for life no longer exists. I witnessed some of those caught up in the downturn, the homeless (and out of work). This generation still shows much respect (see how their protest is organized), I wonder if the new generation will be as restrained and orderly.
