Making hay on Memorial Day, 2008 in Coatesville, PA. The thrower gave out and we had to stack every wagon.

  • thrower gave out? that sucks. its always good to still get a little manual labor these days though. everybody is getting to where all they have to do is sit and everything else is done for them. where did the good times all go.

  • The guy in the wagon looks like he's having an easy life. Could try knocking the old Fergie up a gear or two, she has the power and the baler could take it. Just carry a few spare shear pins in case she can't.

    Round here we usually bale as fast as the guy on the stacker can work going flat out (I know, I'm usually the sucker on the stacker), but then again we're usually doing it against the clock to get the maximum done before it rains yet again.

    any of you fellows out there old enough to remember pitching the bales! two men and two forks from the ground up! on the wagon I sure do. in the 40's and 50's
