@vixitrixalina I forgot about his changes. He's just pretty to look at.
Gotta love Alf :)

@hannahbananaroxsox not only that, Totilas is terrible with his changes - his back end swings from side to side in the two times, and in the one times he often "bunny hops" behind. i agree that Totilas' front end is distracting - he has such amazing shoulder movement and lift in the front end that you don't see what's going on at the back.
Alf is much more even and regular, and he is a big, strong horse with a smaller lady rider; the way they move is totally different.
bring on 2012!!

wonderfull pair:-)

oh come on, you cant say this horse really moves nearly as well as totilas.. hes great.. loved the bit at the end.. just not as good as totilas and Gal
however now totilas has a new rider these 2 are our best hopes for london, (barAdelinde Cornelissen who were eliminated)

Totilas is not the entire world. yes, he is a nice horse, but it's a bit distracting. dressage should be judged according to the rules, not whether or not the horse moves like Totilas.
-
I wish more modern dressage riders rode like this. It's nice to see that someone still knows the meaning of engagement.
-
@TheLoschadka Have you watched Totilas' back end? He gives a working trot and doesn't track up where as Mistral Hojris tracks up and lifts his back feet off of the ground. He also steps over better in his half passes.
Mistral Hojris is a bigger, chunkier horse than Totilas, so they way they move is a lot different, but I still prefer Mistral Hojris as his front end isn't overly expressive and doesn't distract the eye.

I know I'm not a FEI judge or anything, but this is no Totilas. In fact, I am quite surprised how they made it to second place! Firstly, Laura is moving all over the place 9especially her hands - look at the extended trot! Secondly, Mistral Hojiris, although I'm sure he's an amazing horse, is much heavier on the rein than Totilas, and his trot is nowhere near of that standard. So, no offence or anything GB, but I don't think you quite made it this time.
She should have won. If dressage was marked according to the FEI rulebook, she would have done so.

I love this combination but I Wish that i could watch it without the distraction of the commentator who is so loud it detracts from the performance. Fantastic Laura clapping loudly
