  • Okay seriously, the surgery does not hurt at all. I was looking away and whenever I felt the rubbing on my toe, the podiatrist said she was only swabbing it, but in reality she was removing the nail..I didn't even feel a thing! :D

  • @Catchadragonfly The first time I had it, it hurt so bad that I got the anaesthetic needle (which hurt a LOT, but not nearly as bad as when they were trying to cut without it). The second time it hardly hurt at all. It depends on how badly infected/swollen it is at the time I think.

  • Oops! I meant to type my response to you below instead of starting a new one. Hope you read it anyway.

  • A podiatrist works, but for me, it's all about saving money and not feeling those dreaded novocaine shots. In America, at least in the southern section of Pennsylvania where I live, such a surgery cost 400 bucks. It was a mistake that I won't make again. The shots were brutal too. Well, at least your toe is better. I can't stand seeing anyone in that kind of pain. Just two hours ago I got out of the shower, clipped mine away, wiped the blood, and it looks good.

  • @sk8forlife99 Yep, the needle in the toe is super painful, but better than the pain when they are cutting.

  • @Iliketogodumb Not necessarily. I never had it cauterized and I only had ingrown toenails 2-3 times in my life.

  • @chandler907 Actually, with toenails keeping them too short can result in ingrown toenails. You want to keep them slightly longer than the toe.

  • @scottb953 Turns out that's a myth.

  • @traderjoes My big toes have always been turned towards my other toes. I can assure you it is not due to my footwear. I think it's genetic.

  • @ppipod For advice on how to fix an ingrown toenail?

  • @MrDreamturkey podiatrist is really the way to go though.
