A documentary made shortly after the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized) took Baghdad in 2003 shows how dictator Saddam was very close to the action and could have been captured right away like Noriega was in Panama had the U.S. aggressively used its Airborne equipped with M113 Gavin APCs to block escape routes from Baghdad (3D maneuver)

And how if the incompetent USMC in wheeled trucks had been kept home and the eastern maneuver axis given to an Army mechanized unit with tracked tanks, Baghdad could have been taken completely by 2D maneuver instead of wheeled gyrenes being 6 days AWOL to take the eastern half of the city.
