Japan Gives North Korea Firm Words

North Korea is causing great concern across the international community, especially in Japan and South Korea. Japan says Pyongyang must abandon weapons of mass destruction.
Japanese defense minister Yasukazu Hamada, speaking at the Asia Security Summit, says North Korea needs to give up its weapons of mass destruction and return to negotiations.

[Yasukazu Hamada, Japanese Defense Minister]:
"A nuclear test by North Korea, in addition to the enhancement of its ballistic missile capabilities, constitutes a grave threat to the security not only of northeast Asia, but to the entire international community, and this cannot be allowed. These actions clearly violate the U.N. Security Council 1718, and contravene the joint declaration of the six party talks. Japan urges North Korea once again to abandon its weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs."

A South Korean newspaper reported on Saturday that North Korea is preparing to move an intercontinental ballistic missile from a factory near Pyongyang to a launch site on the east coast.

North Korea has warned of an intercontinental ballistic missile test in anger over U.N. Security Council punishment of what Pyongyang says was a satellite launch on April 5.

Official delegations from some 27 governments participated in the Asia Security Summit held in Singapore over the weekend.

Yeah. I think too many people sort of forget this point. Japan may be OK now, but it wasn't too long ago that they were committing vile atrocities on the rest of Asia.

@virtuousmission japan can rebuild its military machine the only thing holding it back is their constitution which can be reformed through referendum but many japanese people dont like that idea due to stories they heard of WW2.

they can defend against an invasion attempt, but they cant strike back at the mainland due to pressure from the US and other south-east asian nations.

otherwise people all over the world are going to cry "OMG JAPANS TRYING TO REBUILD ITS EMPIRE" etc etc and then things will get really ugly.

All these countries mentioned have friends and enemies. Once the war begins it will be a domino effect and all hell will break loose. Its going to be ugly.
