  • @GriffGruff78 I might be wrong but the backstrap is the tenderloin. Where im from they call the peice of meat inside the body cavity the "fish". that is more tender than the backstrap because that is a rarely used muscle. I might be wrong but the backstrap is the actual tenderloin

  • @Supertomiman No. The tenderloin is on the inside of the abdominal cavity. It attaches to the top of the pelvis and along the spine at the bottom of the ribcage. I think that when you buy a beef tender, you're getting the backstrap and when you're talking about a deer tender you're talking about the same thing we call a beef filet. Maybe a more knowledgeable butcher can help further.
