@drinksmokelie Sounds like youve already gone through that process. Sorry...I like my furniture
-
wow I didn't know that they had to cut the part of the toes...er claws off too!
-
@jucynaki1987 not to mention that they are in constant pain after a short while...

@MrDefibulator sorry but i have to disagree. neutering a cat is done for practical reasons such as avoiding:
1. having "unwanted" kittens that usually end up being stray several months later (better to sterilise than abandon animals)
2. their being tortured because of them wanting to mate but cannot.
declawing, on the other hand, is done only for reasons of avoiding scratching furniture... come on!!!!!! want a cat... you get the whole package. btw... you can always cut its nails every 2 weeks

People say this is brutal but for whatever reason, neutering cats is perfectly okay. Chopping off any kind of reproductive system is just as harsh as pulling out claws, in my opinion. You neuter cats because you don't want to take care of pregnant cats or have extra kittens loitering around. People de-claw their cats to protect their furniture, newborn human babies, house guests, and to protect their apartments/homes to avoid rent going up.

Anyone who does this should have his nuts hacked off.

For all those of you who declaw because you are concerned about your furniture... Look up Dr. Jean Hofve, a cat expert and vet. She has given great evidence on her website littlebigcat that showcases why declawed cats often develop serious housebreaking issues due to chronic pain which can prevent them from using a normal litterbox.

@gadzoda go to little big cat, it's a website that feature full info on declawing. If you don't care that they feel pain, maybe you'll care about the evidence on that site that explains why declawed cats are far more likely to develop litter box problems because of chronic pain and piss all over your house.

in exchange for guaranteed freedom to live in an air conditioned house, eat free food, get massaged all the time, and do nothing? Definitely an option, man!
