Billions of miles from the Earth, the Voyager spacecraft takes a snap-shot of our tiny planetary home, the Earth. This clip is from Carl Sagan's Cosmos episode 6, "Travellers' Tales."

  • I remember Cosmos when I was a kid. It was a tv programme about astronomy on prime time TV here in the UK. There's not been one since. It's all crap tv these days.

  • Such a wonder of a man is no longer among us. May God, if there is one, rest him in peace. Instead, we have brilliant minds involved in developing highly sofisticated weapons and soldiers of the future. And, of course, Obamas, Clintons, Sarkozys, Camerons, Merkels and lots and lots of selfish, mindless politicians without souls and wisdom. The Pale Blue Dot is no longer a place for everyone to live in peace and harmony, in the future, as I've seen it as a child, watching Carl Sagan's Cosmos...

  • @Herv3 Fun fact: billions and billions did become a unit of measurement after his death, they called it a sagan. It is 4+ billions since "billions and billions" has to be at least that much :)

  • @happyface3457 A million views? This video should have billions and billions of views. :p

  • @GoldenDynamo Why? He didn't make the planets or Jupiter's moons, he is just compiling pictures that a camera on voyager took, it's not like he created them. Also, I think that the background music can really stir emotional fuzziness in naive and gullible minds. Everyone seems to look at Sagan as if he did anything other than just present celestial bodies as any astronomer does. He was a good astronomer, and teacher, but that was all!

  • Carl Sagan is one of the atheis i would acutually hang with :)

  • this man always makes me cry and applause at the end of his videos like an old woman (im a young man)

  • Well, this reminds me of a Quote from Albert Einstein "Never Underestimate Stupidity" !

  • @k9a2g6 I've seen stupider people out there. And they do exist. Unfortunately. Should do a documentary on them: where they are, what they do, how often the reproduce etc. What groups would I find the stupidest people in and I'm omitting people with mental disorders like autism and down syndrome : Teabaggers, televangelist viewers (the ones producing the shows are the cleaver snakes), large groups of people in the following states: Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, and what others?

  • All I can do is Laugh ! Who is Stupid enough to rate this video with a THUMBS DOWN !
