the problem I have is saving for html. I can seem to make the edges smooth and look professional. How do you make the background transparent and just save the button and make it look smooth and professional. I don't see anyone cover this procedure

If you watch full screen and pause in between clicks, it shouldn't be a problem,
But yeah i get what you're saying,,

I used to use GIMP, at the time I believed it was better then photoshop. Give PS a try and get used to it, in the end it is 10000 times better then GIMP.
