It's been 10 years. And, now, this year, we lose GUIDING LIGHT where Beverlee reigned as well!

I guess I remember "Iris" from an earlier period--when it seemed like every scene I saw her in she was lounging on her patio. There were two teen-aged boys then, one named "Dennis," I think?

I do remember "Iris" and the comical scenes with her maid even then, the hatred she had for "Rachel," jealous of her with her daddy "Mac." I think she was "Iris Delaney" at that point. I watched the soap with my stepmother and sister sometimes, when there was no more "Secret Storm" to watch after 1974.

Dennis Wheeler, her son, and Jamie Frame, Rachel's son with Steve Frame, yes, they were tweens & early teens then.

I also wanted to add too the casting of Carmen Duncan in the role of Iris was creative genius as well. Iris was actually the inspiration for Alexis Carrington Colby on "Dynasty." For AW to cast Carmen, who sort of resembled Joan Collins, in the role was marvelous. Her Iris was much more human, vulnerable & sympathetic. I actually liked it when Iris & Rachel became civilized to one another after Mac's death

some of her actions-like wearing a slinky negligee in front of her father were downright inappropriate. Course as much as i adored Mac he did led gher on unconsciously-there were no boundaries in their relationship.

Beverlee Mckinsey was actually born in 1935. I loved the character of Iris Cory Carrington Bancroft Wheeler. There was more to her than the devious mastermind plotting to break up Mac & Rachel. During Beverlee Mckinsey's time as Iris the idea the roots of Iris's neurotic insecurities being unmasked-we saw a woman who had a serious Electra  complex

Oh how I loved Iris. The comedy with her maid Vivian, her hatred for Rachel, and the way Ada would tell her off. She had great chemistry with these actors. I miss these kinds of soaps. I'm sure that 1940 DOB is incorrect.
