This demo i made in 2004 with audiotracks in Logic sequencer. Every sound is a audiotrack. All sounds drums fx etc. are pure from Yamaha TX7. No add of external FX, or dynamic FX. Delays i realized with midi, also pannings. Reverb with helb from right envelope programming. There are no layers in this track.

Yamaha TX7 is the module of the legendary Yamaha DX7. 6OP FM synthesizer, no filter, no FX, no samples. This demo show only a little bit of 6OP-FM. If you take time for programming TX7 ... or an SY77 ... than you will listen much more interessting sounds. In this demo i not programmet the typically FM-Piano and this all 80s stuff.

  • Amazing machine, i just bought one and if i didnt hear your demo, i wouldnt have bought it lol it should arrive in a day or 2 what computer do you use to control it and what software would be best to go with it?

    thanks

  • @Filthdrive Go for what? 1: I use Sounddiver (Mac+PC) for editing of the Yamaha TX-7. It works fine, without problems, easy. But of course better you should understand FM-Synthesis. TX-7 brings not really so many parameters, like as example the Yamaha SY-77. But enough for good FM-sounds :) 2: My equipment for made my demos: Emagic AMT8, MotU 24 I/O, Emagic Logic Sequencer, my brain & heart ;-)

  • @DrSqu Do i need a Data Cassette recorder for loading and saving sounds on the TX7? lol i'm lost on a few things, the only thing ive managed to do is hook my TX7 to sounddiver and play with the lfo's and such lol

  • @Filthdrive No, you don't need the cassette interface. All you can edit and manage with Sounddiver ... it's a library for managing the sounds and complete soundbanks. There you also can load/save/exchange soundbulks. It means, you can save your complete TX7 in a midifile, sysex. Also you can load from othersources soundfiles (sysex/midi) into TX7. And of course, it's an editor for edit the sounds.

  • How good is the software used to program it (Unisyn etc...) ?? Seriously thinking about buying one... as I can't afford a Dx and the local flea market as 2 Tx7's lying around.

  • @skillzflux

I love Emagic/Apple Sounddiver for most editing of synthesizers. It really works fine. Else maybe there's a freeware in web for DX7. Unisyn is not bad. hmmm... i swear on Sounddiver.

  • i love the part with the little buzzing sound this track makes me smile

  • Holy shit, this is awesome. Great work!

  • an unbelieveable work with an old ortodox - pop oriented machine.

I fell happy and jealous at same time ... congratulations and thanks for share!

  • Considering that you didn't added effects I have toi say that this is a brilliant work!!

  • Cool stuff. I got rid of my DX7 and TX7 for FM8 and Komplete 7. The only thing better with the Native Instruments is not as much cables. But I'm loving this tune. :)

  • sounds like mosiquotos

  • it sounds like someone if farting on there

  • @DrSqu Ah cool thanks, i have now somehow managed to lose all the factory sounds from the TX7 and i am hearing only a tone sound (voice) lol i dont know how i done it... and i have been editing the tone sound voice with Sounddiver LFOs paramaters and it's quite fun lol but i do think i have lost the factory sounds, do you think i have somehow deleted them or overwitten them with sounddiver by mistake?
