I think its Jim Carrey's over the top acting that made people like this film so much. I've seen worse movies, but this is nonetheless a very mediocre film. The Whos are boring and shallow as hell and Cindy is uninteresting even though she's the Who with the most personality. The Grinch is the only enjoyable character, and for me, that's only because of Jim Carrey's overacting. Plus people in general always fall for a tragic origin story, especially where prejudice is concerned.
