Lou Dobbs on Illegal Immigrants

Lou Dobbs ranting on illegal immigrant construction workers in New Orleans. What Lou Dobbs fails to make clear is that the majority of the construction workers are actually legal workers. He states that the illegal immigrants will work in New Orleans and send most of their earnings back to Mexico and cites the 20 Billion Dollars in remittances Mexico received in 2005. He adds that remittances are Mexico's primary source of revenue ahead of oil exports. Lou Dobbs is wrong, remittances to Mexico are about half of oil exports which in 2005 amounted to approximately 40 Billion Dollars.

Lou Dobbs also fails to mention that the majority of remittance moneys returns back to the US as more and more Mexicans purchase US made goods.
