Florence Nightingales father was called William, and her mother was called Fanny, her sister: Parthenope. one of her first cousins was called Ben Leigh-Smith who captained a ship, the crew of which were stranded at the north pole for 10 months. They all survived apart from one who died of cancer shortly after returning to England. The ship was the Eyre, Ben had a brother, another William who had many children and was my great, great, great grandfather. :) hope this helped.
